A Favor Asked of Jesus

Matthew 20:20-28 Scripture imageNOTE: I apologize for this post being long. But, it needs to be shared. If I break it up into several posts, it ends up being disjointed and confusing.

We don’t realize what we’re asking of Jesus. Our requests are purely for selfish gain and temporal reasons. We must realize that we need to look from an eternal spiritual perspective; not an earthly temporal perspective. The spiritual perspective is a totally different view than the earthly temporal one.

We must seek Jesus and HIS eternal home. Living in a temporal earthly life has one requirement compared to the one eternal spiritual requirements. We have to live out both requirements in order to work out our salvation with the fear and trembling of Yahweh.

As it says in Revelation, below, we must be hot or cold; not lukewarm.

Jesus said in Revelation 3:14-22
“Write this to the angel of the church in Laodicea:
“The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of all God has made, says this: I know what you do, that you are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold! But because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich, and I have become wealthy and do not need anything.’ But you do not know that you are really miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I advise you to buy from me gold made pure in fire so you can be truly rich. Buy from me white clothes so you can be clothed and so you can cover your shameful nakedness. Buy from me medicine to put on your eyes so you can truly see.
“I correct and punish those whom I love. So be eager to do right, and change your hearts and lives.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me. “Those who win the victory will sit with me on my throne in the same way that I won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne. Everyone who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Two requirements:

  1. Temporal earthly-three main things
    1. Scripture support:
      2 Corinthians 4:16b-18
Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

      1. We make it our aim to please God, both now when we are in our physical bodies and later when we see rightly and live for eternity.
      2. Keeping eternity in our sights reminds us of the briefness of the lifespan of our temporal existence.
    2. Scripture support:
James 1:27 says: Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

      1. We are in a relationship with GOD/Yahweh. The other part of the Trinity (Jesus/Holy Spirit) will fall into place when it’s true.
      2. It’s pretty self-explanatory.
    3. Scripture support:
Mark 13:10 says: But first, the Good News must be spread to all nations.
Mark 16:15 says: Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world and tell the Good News to everyone.

      1. It’s our mission to share the Good News of God’s Kingdom and that Jesus is our Savior.
  2. Spiritual eternal-four main things
    1. Everything in number 1 above points to our spiritual health. However, there are separate spiritual points we should take into consideration.
    2. Scripture support:
Ephesians 2:8-9 says: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

      1. We are saved by grace. We offer nothing to the equation.
    3. Scripture support:
      1. Faith & Obedience to God is a requirement of eternal life. Everything will tie in together as you read on!
      2. Obedience is an expression of our deep, abiding faith in His promises.
      3. Obedience is a willing expression of our love and gratitude for all He is willing to give.
      4. Through obedience, we demonstrate our faith in Jesus, overcome the world and accomplish God’s purpose.
      5. There is no contradiction between faith and obedience.
    4. Scripture support:
1 John 5:1-5 says Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is God’s child, and whoever loves the Father also loves the Father’s children. This is how we know we love God’s children: when we love God and obey his commands. Loving God means obeying his commands. And God’s commands are not too hard for us, because everyone who is a child of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world—our faith. So the one who conquers the world is the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
    5. We know that all believers will receive resurrected bodies (1 Corinthians 15:42-44 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.) Which means, we will not exist without body & spirit, but we will possess glorified bodies especially suited for an existence in the eternal state.
    6. Scripture support:
Ephesians 4:13-14 tells us this: This work must continue until we are all joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge of the Son of God. We must become like a mature person, growing until we become like Christ and have his perfection. Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to fool us. They make plans and try any kind of trick to fool people into following the wrong path.

      1. Spiritual boundaries are beneficial to our spiritual well-being. There should be clear boundaries to govern the beliefs we hold and how we put those beliefs into practice.
      2. Not having spiritual boundaries can lead to theological confusion and the misbehavior that comes with it.
      3. The best way to understand and have clarity on this subject is to read more here.

When we remove our human selfishness and live our lives out in faith and obedience to Yahweh, we are blessed by Him and we bless Him. Our rewards in heaven will vary depending on our earthly ministries. It’s in scripture, look it up for yourselves.

How does your earthly ministry lend to your spiritual health and eternal destiny?

Prayer: Father God, I lift up myself as well as the readers of this blog. I pray that their lives are a blessing to You and that they will live out their faith in obedience to You, in eagerness. Light our paths in such a way that we have no question it’s You leading us. Thank You for our salvation and Your grace and mercy. I pray also for all the world leaders to seek You and that they will be obedient to You. I lift up the ill, physical, mental, and spiritual. I pray that all those affected by some horrific tragedy will find solace in You. I know and trust You to meet all needs. Thank You for all the answered prayers. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Learn To Be Satisfied

Philippians 4 image

In today’s day and age, there’s this mindset that people want it all and they want it now and believe they deserve it. That attitude flies in the face of GOD’s word. GOD is not selfish and self-centered. He doesn’t teach us to be selfish.

In the Word, Paul teaches us that we don’t need everything and we don’t need it now, to be satisfied in life. GOD will provide when something is really needed. We can become so busy thinking only about ourselves that we forget about GOD. If we want to be blessed by GOD we need to point to HIM in all things. All we have to do is read HIS word to find His will for our lives.

We find, also, in GOD’s word that he commands us to love HIM and only HIM, that we’re not to have any other gods. When we take our eyes off of GOD and start fretting about what we need and want, we make those things our god.

What are you focusing on that could become your god? We all do it. It’s our human nature. Satan would love nothing more than to catch you in his traps and keep you in bondage. He’s the ultimate deceiver. HE can make himself look like GOD in his word trickery and ensnare you. Look what he did to Eve in the garden.

Repent and turn to GOD and trust HIM for all your needs.

How can I pray for you? Leave me a message below:

Dear Father GOD, I lift up the readers of this blog. I pray that they seek YOU, find YOU, and surrender fully to YOU. I praise, honor, glorify, adore, and love YOU, GOD. I lift up all the sick; physically, mentally, and spiritually. I trust YOU, GOD, to meet all their needs and that they know and trust YOU in their lives; as well as myself. I can get sidetracked, GOD. I pray that my gaze is fixed on YOU and that I get vertically aligned and stay on the straight and narrow path that leads to YOU in heaven. I pray this for all the readers here too. I pray in Jesus’ name, amen.

Gain Wisdom From God!

Let’s look at what wisdom is as defined by Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary.

WISDOM:

  1. The right use or exercise of knowledge; the choice of laudable ends, and of the best means to accomplish them. This is wisdom in act, effect, or practice. If wisdom is to be considered as a faculty of the mind, it is the faculty of discerning or judging what is most just, proper, and useful, and if it is to be considered as an acquirement, it is the knowledge and use of what is best, most just, most proper, most conducive to prosperity or happiness. Wisdom in the first sense, or practical wisdom, is nearly synonymous with discretion. It differs somewhat from prudence, in this respect; prudence is the exercise of sound judgment in avoiding evils; wisdom is the exercise of sound judgment either in avoiding evils or attempting good. Prudence then is a species, of which wisdom is the genus [(in philosophical and general use) a class of things that have common characteristics and that can be divided into subordinate kinds.] Wisdom gained by experience is of inestimable value.
Example: It is hoped that our rulers will act with dignity and wisdom; that they will yield everything to reason, and refuse everything to force.
  2. In Scripture, human learning; erudition; knowledge of arts and sciences.
Example: Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. Acts 7.
  3. The quickness of intellect; readiness of apprehension; dexterity in execution; as the wisdom of Bezaleel and Aholiab. Exodus 31.
  4. Natural instinct and keen discernment. Job 39.
  5. In Scripture theology, wisdom is true religion; godliness; piety; the knowledge and fear of God, and sincere and uniform obedience to his commands. This is the wisdom that is from above. Psalm 90. Job 28.
  6. Profitable words or doctrine. Psalm 37.
The wisdom of this world, mere human education; or the carnal policy of men, their craft and artifices in promoting their temporal interests; called also fleshly wisdom. 1 Corinthians 2. 2 Corinthians 1.
The wisdom of words, artificial or affected eloquence; or learning displayed in teaching. 1 Corinthians 1 and 2.

We’ll focus on number 5 in this blog entry.

Wisdom is true religion; godliness; piety; the knowledge and fear of God, and sincere and uniform obedience to his commands.

God is telling us to be wise in His word, commands, obedience, reverence to Him, and how we live out our Christly lives for Him.

What are we doing with Jesus Christ the Messiah in the world? We need to be about the Father’s business sharing the gospel, planting seeds, and winning souls for YAH. What does that look like in your life? Let’s interact. Leave a comment and let’s share and chat.

For me, it’s this blog, it’s all the things I share on social media, and the in-person interactions I participate in. Nowadays, in-person interaction isn’t what it used to be, because of the chaos surrounding the virus and the fear created by it.

Many people fear getting ill and dying. I do not. Why? Because, even in death, I know where my spirit is going in the afterlife. It’s going to heaven to be with Jesus. There’s no fear in that. Why are you afraid? What do you fear and why?

Dear Abba YAH, I lift up all these lives to You. I pray that they acquire great wisdom of and from YOU. I pray that we’ll be about YOUR business spreading the gospel of Jesus, The Good News. Take away the fear of humans, YAH. Help us reach out to in-person interaction and be Your family. I love, honor, glorify, and adore YOU, YAH. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The Beatitudes and Superman

View this post on Instagram

The Beatitudes Jesus teaches from the mountainside. We can live blessed lives. We simply need to trust, love, obey, praise & worship, adore, and fear (revere) God with our whole being. That’s not to say we won’t have trials and burdens. God uses our trials to build us up, strengthen us, and teach us, and to help us growth in our faith in Him. What’s stopping you? Stop believing the lies of the devil. Stop the devil of permission to hold you in his control. Then, surrender to Jesus, the Holy Spirit, & God. Why? To gain freedom in Christ through salvation. Be liberated from the devil, now. Accept Jesus as your savior. Satan has no power over God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus. In fact, by the sheer mention of “Jesus”, the devil crumbles and loses all power. Imagine, if you will, for a minute, Superman & Kryptonite. What happens to Superman when he is near Kryptonite? In fiction, it’s temporary. As soon as Superman is out of range of it he regains his strength. Well, as long as you continue to surrender and obey God, your weakness is turned to strength through God. Praise the living Triune God, Yahweh! What an awesome blessing!

Servitude

The key thought in the book of Joshua is that as long as Israel served God, they prospered.

There it is again. Obedience to God. Serving Him is obeying Him.

When we remove our agenda and surrender to Him lovingly, we’ll be prosperous. There’s more to obedience than meets the eye. As the title says, servitude, it’s about your attitude while serving Him.

Truly serving Him is about removing our wants and replacing them with His wants.

It’s all in His word. Go read it and find out for yourselves.

(Note: This is not a message in favor of the prosperity gospel.)

What’s your attitude about serving God? Comment, let’s chat!

Why Obey?

Being responsible? It’s hard, in today’s society. It was in Biblical days, too. That’s the way people put it who choose not to be responsible and blame everyone and everything else about their life.

We all make choices. Even not choosing is a choice. Those choices all have ramifications on our lives.

The Word talks about it clearly.

This book (The Word; The Holy Bible), is God breathed and inerrant, teaches an important lesson: we bring hardship to ourselves and others when we disobey God.

May we see the moral integrity of God that Moses proclaimed and respond by being responsible.

How does this look in your life? Comment and let’s chat.

Her Beauty Comes From Him!

Song of Songs 7_6 image

The similarities here are uniquely different than what they were previously, and in the beginning, relate to magnificent and elegant raiment. Such esteem is all His saints; and are clothed with Christ, they are marked by their elegance and radiantly beautiful garments.

They make the teachings of Yahweh their Saviour more pleasing in everything. Steadfast believers pay tribute to Christ, exhort the gospel, and persuade and revive sinners.

Read today’s full scripture text here.

The church compares to the grand and extending palm; during her love for Christ, and the obedience came about accordingly, are a cherished fruit of the true Vine. The King is maintained in the chambers.

Christ takes pleasure in the gatherings and commands of His people; and cherishes the fruit of His grace in them.

When applied to the church and to each faithful Christian, all this symbolizes that grace of holiness, in which they’ll be given to their divine Bridegroom.

The church’s beauty is from Christ! When we are obedient and allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us, for His purpose, our beauty shines through. It greatly pleases Him. In doing so, we’re blessed.

Comment how you’re blessed in your obedience to Christ.

Me: Well, we know that nobody is perfect in this fleshly vessel. We all stumble, even I. However, that being said; I do my very best to be obedient to Christ’s call on my life. I stumble along the way, but, He catches me and helps me keep going. Your turn!

I Called On You!

Isaiah_50_2-3_10-11
Jesus at the door image borrowed.

Yahweh was speaking to Isaiah. He may not always audibly speak to us today. But, through the Holy Spirit and His living Word, He does.

How often do you get a phone call or someone at your door and you ignore it because you don’t have time, or just don’t want to deal with it? I’ve done it! I’ll admit it! You wouldn’t know it by my social interactions, but, I’m an introvert. Actually, technically, I’m an extroverted introvert. I socialize. I then need my solitude to recharge. Click the link and read up. Maybe you’re like this too?

However, there are some who blatantly ignore out of disobedience to Yahweh’s calling.

Obedience is tough. It’s easy in today’s society to ignore the call of Yahweh and keep going with our day to day life without His guidance & wisdom. Are you distracted with life? Are you weary? In the last line of the scripture, it tells us that when we’re disobedient we will live in pain. That’s what He offers us in our disobedience. I don’t know about you, but, I’m not a fan of living in pain. You interpret this pain whatever way you wish. But, I believe it means living in torment and trials that cause pain of all kinds. Now, that’s not to say we’ll be with any pain whatsoever, otherwise. This is talking about needless pain. Some pain is needed to grow in our faith in Yahweh.

Answer Yahweh’s call. Be obedient to His call. You won’t regret it! That is my challenge to you.

What do you do with Yahweh’s calling? Comment and be blessed and bless others.

Your Will, Not Mine, Yahweh!

Luke-22_42As being fully human subjects Jesus to the same as we experience, here He was praying and pleading for His life. He still prayed, “But do what You want, not what I want”.

It is not always easy to give into Yahweh. We would much rather give the orders and ask Yahweh to back up our plans. However, real praying is learning what He desires for our lives and then doing it. When we can sincerely come to Him and say, “Your will be done,” we are then able to face anything that comes.

How about you? Do you struggle with obedience to Yahweh and doing what His word tells you? I know I do. You’d be lying if you said no. As humans, we want to be the boss. It’s in our nature.

That’s not to say that were unable to be obedient. It’s simply a human struggle to follow other’s orders. It can and should be done, however. As stated before, when we do follow His orders we’ll be able to face whatever comes.

Comment a time you obeyed Yahweh and were blessed.
