Why should we live our lives like an iceberg?

Human nature is such that is likes to be noticed. It likes to be the center of attention.

Yahweh calls us to a different way of life.

Here’s an example:

Everything below the surface is where all the work takes place.

Yahweh wants us to give up all the showy stuff in public. He calls us to our prayer closets.

In Matthew 6:5-6 Jesus Teaches About Prayer:

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites. They love to stand in the synagogues and on the street corners and pray so people will see them. I tell you the truth, they already have their full reward. When you pray, you should go into your room and close the door and pray to your Father who cannot be seen. Your Father can see what is done in secret, and he will reward you.

Drawing attention to self is taking attention away from Yahweh. It’s not about us. It’s about Yahweh.

What people see in public should be like a dot compared to what goes on behind the scenes – our daily walk, our devotion, prayer, obedience, service – it should be deeper than the public life.

Folks, without the Holy Spirit’s help in our faith walk it is impossible. But, with Yahweh all thing are possible. We can do nothing without Yahweh. He is our strength and protection.
