We’re Christians! What does that mean?
To start with, it means that we’re followers of Christ.
A Christian is someone who has been born again by God and has put faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
A true Christian is a person who has put faith and trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His death on the cross as payment for sins and His resurrection on the third day. John 1:12-3 tells us, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2). A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Jesus Christ.
As part of that, we must endure faithfully. All circumstances.
That brings to mind Jesus’ journey to Calvary. During the entire stretch of his journey, He knew what he would go through. The only time He said anything was when He was in the garden praying and sweating drops of blood through intense agony knowing what He would go through when He prayed these words:
Matthew 26:39 After walking a little farther away from them, Jesus fell to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, do not give me this cup of suffering. But do what you want, not what I want.”
He endured the most intense time of his ministry when He was scourged and hung on the cross to endure more persecution. It was while he was on the cross He forgave a thief and told him that he’d meet him in paradise.
Luke 23:46 Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father! In your hands, I place my spirit!” He said this and died.
Jesus never once complained nor fought about what he was doing. He didn’t want to do it, but, He knew it would save all mankind. It was the ultimate price for the forgiveness of sin. It’s a gift. No repayment necessary.
Only one thing is required. As Christians, be HIS example. Live a life that shows people your loyalties are with Yahweh.

Me: Yes, I struggle with this. It’s hard to take it and be a good example. Nobody likes to live in pain and suffering. However, I try my best. How are you doing? Come with me on this journey, won’t you? Let me know.
