GOD is With Us

Psalm 46 scripture image
When all around us the world is raging in war and turmoil, and we’re frightened without anywhere to go; nor do we know what to do, all we need to do is look up to GOD and trust and obey HIM, in all things.

David writes in Psalm 46 how God is our refuge and a very present help in trouble. He wants us to know that God is not moved by earthly trials. God is our fortress and refuge. We need to seek Him and know that He does not fear anything. HE can make wars cease, breaks bows, and shatter spears; He burns the chariots with fire. He warns us to “BE still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

We have no reason or excuse to be so frightened and fearing everything around us.  God is in control. Even if our mortal bodies die, our soul and spirit will rise to be with HIM in heaven. That’s a joyous experience!

What are you afraid of? Why are you afraid? Seek God and trust Him now. Give all your worries, cares, and fears to Him. He will care for you and be your refuge and fortress.

PRAYER: Abba YAH, I pray that we will seek You and trust You. I lift up the readers of this blog to You, YAH. I also life up all the ill, physically, mentally, and spiritually. I know and trust You will meet their needs. I also pray for all the world with its turmoil and the warring going on in places. I pray that they will seek You, trust You, and see the error of their ways. Thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus, also. Without it, we’d be destined for hell. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Messiah Prophecy Fulfilled

Acts 3:17-23 Scripture image

  • What is going on in the verses?
    • Luke is the author/scripter of Acts. However, Peter is speaking to the Israelites in the temple. He saw the opportunity to address them and seized the opportunity.
    • Peter is acknowledging the people’s ignorance in giving Jesus over to be crucified.
    • Peter also acknowledged that God fulfilled a prophecy foretelling about the Messiah-Jesus, that He must suffer these things.
    • We must repent and turn to God, so that our sins may be wiped away.
    • Jesus must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things. God promised long ago.
    • The prophet Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything he tells you.’ He also said, ‘Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from God’s people.’
  • What is the theme? What stands out?
    • Peter acknowledges the people’s ignorance, as well as prophecy being fulfilled of the Messiah-Jesus.
    • The prophet, Moses informed and warned the people of the consequences concerning the Messiah.
    • As a result of the prophecy of the Messiah being fulfilled
      • We must repent and turn to God, so that our sins may be wiped away.
  • “What is God’s word saying to me today?”
    • I must acknowledge my ignorance and accept that Jesus is the Messiah and repent and turn to God seeking forgiveness and living my life for Jesus.
  • How do we apply this knowledge to our own life?
    • Sharing the gospel and how the gospel message has formed our testimony.
    • Be in God’s word daily and pray, as well as…
    • Coming together with like-minded believers sharing with each other about God’s word; praising and worshipping the LORD.
  • What changes do I need to make?
    • Remove all outside noise that doesn’t align with God and HIS word.
    • Be more diligent in gathering together with like-minded believers.

How does this fit your life? What can you do to apply God’s word in your life?

PRAYER: Dear Abba YAH, thank YOU for YOUR word and the knowledge YOU bestow upon me from YOUR word. Thank YOU for talking to me through YOUR word; as it’s alive and living among us. I lift up the readers of this blog and pray that YOU will give them wisdom and understanding and show them the path YOU want them on. Thank YOU for showing me and placing me on the path YOU placed me on. Help us to stay with YOU and continue to grow in our faith in YOU. Thank YOU for giving us the Messiah, our Savior. YAH, I lift up all the world to YOU right now as YOU can see and know the tragic acts that are happening. I  pray that YOU will get all the glory and honor in all that takes place; good and bad because, in the grand scheme of things, it’s YOUR plan and in the end, all will be beneficial in our faith and trust in YOU. I praise, honor, worship, adore, and love YOU, YAH. In Jesus’ name, amen.

A Favor Asked of Jesus

Matthew 20:20-28 Scripture imageNOTE: I apologize for this post being long. But, it needs to be shared. If I break it up into several posts, it ends up being disjointed and confusing.

We don’t realize what we’re asking of Jesus. Our requests are purely for selfish gain and temporal reasons. We must realize that we need to look from an eternal spiritual perspective; not an earthly temporal perspective. The spiritual perspective is a totally different view than the earthly temporal one.

We must seek Jesus and HIS eternal home. Living in a temporal earthly life has one requirement compared to the one eternal spiritual requirements. We have to live out both requirements in order to work out our salvation with the fear and trembling of Yahweh.

As it says in Revelation, below, we must be hot or cold; not lukewarm.

Jesus said in Revelation 3:14-22
“Write this to the angel of the church in Laodicea:
“The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of all God has made, says this: I know what you do, that you are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold! But because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich, and I have become wealthy and do not need anything.’ But you do not know that you are really miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I advise you to buy from me gold made pure in fire so you can be truly rich. Buy from me white clothes so you can be clothed and so you can cover your shameful nakedness. Buy from me medicine to put on your eyes so you can truly see.
“I correct and punish those whom I love. So be eager to do right, and change your hearts and lives.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me. “Those who win the victory will sit with me on my throne in the same way that I won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne. Everyone who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.”

Two requirements:

  1. Temporal earthly-three main things
    1. Scripture support:
      2 Corinthians 4:16b-18
Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.

      1. We make it our aim to please God, both now when we are in our physical bodies and later when we see rightly and live for eternity.
      2. Keeping eternity in our sights reminds us of the briefness of the lifespan of our temporal existence.
    2. Scripture support:
James 1:27 says: Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.

      1. We are in a relationship with GOD/Yahweh. The other part of the Trinity (Jesus/Holy Spirit) will fall into place when it’s true.
      2. It’s pretty self-explanatory.
    3. Scripture support:
Mark 13:10 says: But first, the Good News must be spread to all nations.
Mark 16:15 says: Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world and tell the Good News to everyone.

      1. It’s our mission to share the Good News of God’s Kingdom and that Jesus is our Savior.
  2. Spiritual eternal-four main things
    1. Everything in number 1 above points to our spiritual health. However, there are separate spiritual points we should take into consideration.
    2. Scripture support:
Ephesians 2:8-9 says: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

      1. We are saved by grace. We offer nothing to the equation.
    3. Scripture support:
      1. Faith & Obedience to God is a requirement of eternal life. Everything will tie in together as you read on!
      2. Obedience is an expression of our deep, abiding faith in His promises.
      3. Obedience is a willing expression of our love and gratitude for all He is willing to give.
      4. Through obedience, we demonstrate our faith in Jesus, overcome the world and accomplish God’s purpose.
      5. There is no contradiction between faith and obedience.
    4. Scripture support:
1 John 5:1-5 says Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is God’s child, and whoever loves the Father also loves the Father’s children. This is how we know we love God’s children: when we love God and obey his commands. Loving God means obeying his commands. And God’s commands are not too hard for us, because everyone who is a child of God conquers the world. And this is the victory that conquers the world—our faith. So the one who conquers the world is the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
    5. We know that all believers will receive resurrected bodies (1 Corinthians 15:42-44 It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.) Which means, we will not exist without body & spirit, but we will possess glorified bodies especially suited for an existence in the eternal state.
    6. Scripture support:
Ephesians 4:13-14 tells us this: This work must continue until we are all joined together in the same faith and in the same knowledge of the Son of God. We must become like a mature person, growing until we become like Christ and have his perfection. Then we will no longer be babies. We will not be tossed about like a ship that the waves carry one way and then another. We will not be influenced by every new teaching we hear from people who are trying to fool us. They make plans and try any kind of trick to fool people into following the wrong path.

      1. Spiritual boundaries are beneficial to our spiritual well-being. There should be clear boundaries to govern the beliefs we hold and how we put those beliefs into practice.
      2. Not having spiritual boundaries can lead to theological confusion and the misbehavior that comes with it.
      3. The best way to understand and have clarity on this subject is to read more here.

When we remove our human selfishness and live our lives out in faith and obedience to Yahweh, we are blessed by Him and we bless Him. Our rewards in heaven will vary depending on our earthly ministries. It’s in scripture, look it up for yourselves.

How does your earthly ministry lend to your spiritual health and eternal destiny?

Prayer: Father God, I lift up myself as well as the readers of this blog. I pray that their lives are a blessing to You and that they will live out their faith in obedience to You, in eagerness. Light our paths in such a way that we have no question it’s You leading us. Thank You for our salvation and Your grace and mercy. I pray also for all the world leaders to seek You and that they will be obedient to You. I lift up the ill, physical, mental, and spiritual. I pray that all those affected by some horrific tragedy will find solace in You. I know and trust You to meet all needs. Thank You for all the answered prayers. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Flee From Capture

When this scripture says to save yourself and flee, God is offering you an out to escape being ensnared and becoming a slave to wickedness. See what 1 Corinthians 10 says below.

If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. So, my dear friends, flee from the worship of idols.
1 Corinthians 10:12‭-‬14

Satan makes evil things look sweet and wonderful. Masterfully wording things and masking situations so that you don’t see the truth of the matter. He appeals to our human nature. Human nature will always choose sin. Always!

As the scripture tells us, the wicked will be destroyed.

When we’re in the word of God, we learn to discern evil and wicked things. We know not to allow ourselves to become enslaved in unrighteous behaviors and thoughts. When we pay attention to God, we know better.

As the cliche says, “Just say NO!”

That scripture in the image at the top sounds so familiar with the things going on in the world. A wink here, a nod there, and a nudge here… Wickedness ensures.

How are you handling the wickedness around you? I pray for people, places, and situations. At this point, prayer is the best answer; until God reveals a plan He wants us involved in.

Dear Yahweh, I lift up the world to You. Only You can deal with everything going on. There are evil people and things, there are sick people and they’re lives ones trying to do what they can, there’s all the political shenanigans going on, and lost souls involved in it all. I pray the lost will become found, the sick healed, and harmony within the body of Christ. I pray for the world leaders to come into alignment with You, LORD God. I know this is all part of Your grand plan, Father YAH. We don’t understand, but even so, YOU are in control. We simply need to heed to You. Trust and obey. Thank You in advance, YAH, for hearing and answering this prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Who Do You Serve?

Matthew 6 scripture image

“A general maxim laid down; no man can serve two masters, much less two gods; for their commands will some time or other cross or contradict one another, and their occasions interfere.” Matthew Henry

Generally speaking, serving more than one can become quite cumbersome. At some point, the two will intersect. It will be at that point you will have to choose. Human nature will always choose sinfulness. It’s just how it is.

We all have a bent toward something in the secular world. It can be anything. When the secular becomes your choice, you will be out of alignment with GOD. Once out of alignment, you will not be blessed with GOD’s promises.

It tells us more in 1 Timothy:

Anyone who has a different teaching does not agree with the true teaching of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that shows the true way to serve God. This person is full of pride and understands nothing, but is sick with a love for arguing and fighting about words. This brings jealousy, fighting, speaking against others, evil mistrust, and constant quarrels from those who have evil minds and have lost the truth. They think that serving God is a way to get rich. Serving God does make us very rich; if we are satisfied with what we have. We brought nothing into the world, so we can take nothing out. 1 Timothy 6:3-7

The caution is given three times. That seems pretty important; don’t you agree? GOD uses the number three a lot in scripture. There’s a symbolic link between the trinity and His Word. Three is very important. So, if warned three times… we must take it to heart or suffer the consequences.

We are encouraged by GOD that He will provide our needs when we trust and obey HIM to the fullest. We are of more value to HIM than all the creatures that move on this earth and in the skies. HE is our FATHER. We are his firstborn.

If we had but more faith, we should have less care. Matthew Henry

We need to have faith and trust GOD to care for and meet our needs. When we worry and carry on we only add more stress to our lives. It’s not worth it.

GOD tells us in Revelation 2:

“Write this to the angel of the church in Smyrna:
“The One who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again, says this: I know your troubles and that you are poor, but really you are rich! I know the bad things some people say about you. They say they are Jews, but they are not true Jews. They are a synagogue that belongs to Satan. 10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer for ten days. But be faithful, even if you have to die, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 “Everyone who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. Those who win the victory will not be hurt by the second death.

The book of Revelation is the prophecy of what’s to come. We need to take heed of it. TRUST GOD.

How does this look in your life? What are you doing to trust and obey GOD and have faith in HIM?

Dear YAH, ABBA, I lift everyone up to YOU. I pray that they will put all their cares at YOUR feet; at the foot of the throne and leave them with YOU. Please show us what to do and how to live, to have all the faith we can muster in YOU. Thank YOU for all YOU do and continue to do in our lives. I pray for the ill, physically, mentally, and spiritually. YOU are THE Great Physician and can heal us in all ways. I trust YOU. I adore, honor, and glorify YOU, YAH, in all things. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus, Our High Priest D6

Hebrews 7:13-24 Image

Day 6

The priest whom we are talking about was a member of a different tribe. No one from that tribe ever served as a priest at the altar. Everyone knows that our Lord came from the tribe of Judah. Moses never said anything about priests coming from that tribe. The regulations were different. This became clear when a different priest who is like Melchizedek appeared. That person is a priest, not because he met human requirements, but because he has power that comes from a life that cannot be destroyed. The Scriptures say the following about him: “You are a priest forever, in the way Melchizedek was a priest.” The former requirements are rejected because they are weak and useless. Moses’ Teachings couldn’t accomplish everything that God required. But we have something else that gives us greater confidence and allows us to approach God. None of this happened without an oath. The men from the tribe of Levi may have become priests without an oath, but Jesus became a priest when God took an oath. God said about him, “The Lord has taken an oath and will not change his mind. You are a priest forever.” In this way Jesus has become the guarantee of a better promise. There was a long succession of priests because when a priest died he could no longer serve. But Jesus lives forever, so he serves as a priest forever. That is why he is always able to save those who come to God through him. He can do this because he always lives and intercedes for them. Hebrews 7:13‭-‬25

Strong’s Number – G2420
Greek: ἱερωσύνη
Transliteration: hierōsunē
Pronunciation: hee-er-o-soo’-nay
Definition: From G2413; sacredness that is (by implication) the priestly office: – priesthood.
KJV Usage: priesthood (4x).
Occurs: 4
In verses: 4

Here we see the sacredness of the office of the priesthood. Because Jesus is who He is; makes it most sacred. He is once and forever to save those who come to God through Him. It lasts forever. He lives forever to intercede with God on our behalf.

We can trust Jesus, Father God, & the Holy Spirit. Jesus is our once and for all and forever High Priest. He intercedes on our behalf with God. I mean, those of us who are His children. Until we are His children, saved by His grace, and have faith in accepting Him as our savior; we’re simply noisy gongs in His ears. We MUST be saved and be His children for Him to intercede on our behalf with God.

Where do you stand with God? I challenge you to vertically align yourself and spend some time with Him. Let’s share and connect through God.

Dear Father God, Abba Yah, I lift up the readers of this blog. I pray for them to reach out to You and grow stronger in their faith of You. I pray that they’re blessed and bless others as well. Thank You for using me to share Your word and the Good News of Jesus, our Saviour. Thank You, in advance, for hearing and answering this prayer! In Jesus’ name, amen!

Jesus, Our High Priest D4

Hebrews 6_13-20 image

Day 4

God made a promise to Abraham. Since he had no one greater on whom to base his oath, he based it on himself. He said, “I will certainly bless you and give you many descendants.” So Abraham received what God promised because he waited patiently for it. When people take oaths, they base their oaths on someone greater than themselves. Their oaths guarantee what they say and end all arguments. God wouldn’t change his plan. He wanted to make this perfectly clear to those who would receive his promise, so he took an oath. God did this so that we would be encouraged. God cannot lie when he takes an oath or makes a promise. These two things can never be changed. Those of us who have taken refuge in him hold on to the confidence we have been given. We have this confidence as a sure and strong anchor for our lives. This confidence goes into the ⌊holy⌋ place behind the curtain where Jesus went before us on our behalf. He has become the chief priest forever in the way Melchizedek was a priest. Hebrews 6:13‭-‬20

Definition of an oath:
Greek: ὅρκος
Transliteration: horkos
Pronunciation: hor’-kos her’-kos
Definition: From ἕρκος herkos (a fence; perhaps akin to G3725); a limit that is (sacred) restraint (specifically oath): – oath.
KJV Usage: oath (10x).
Occurs: 10
In verses: 10

Apparently, scripture uses a definition of an oath that the dictionary does not. Here is what the dictionary says the definition of an oath is:

a solemn appeal to a deity, or to some revered person or thing, to witness one’s determination to speak the truth, to keep a promise, etc.: to testify upon oath.

Definition of promise:
Greek: ἐπαγγέλλω
Transliteration: epaggellō
Pronunciation: ep-ang-el’-lo
Definition: From G1909 and the base of G32; to announce upon (reflexively) that is (by implication) to engage to do something to assert something respecting oneself: – profess (make) promise.
KJV Usage: promise (11x), profess (2x), make promise (2x).
Occurs: 15
In verses: 15

Dictionary: a declaration that something will or will not be done, given, etc.

Also:
Greek: ἐλπίς
Transliteration: elpis
Pronunciation: el-pece’
Definition: From ἔλπω elpō which is a primary word (to anticipate usually with pleasure);
expectation (abstract or concrete) or confidence: – faith hope.
KJV Usage: hope (53x), faith (1x).
Occurs: 54
In verses: 48

It seems strange. Strongs uses a strange interpretation of word meanings. It’s confusing. I’ll address this in prayer.

So, it seems to me, God is giving us a confident hope in faith to be reassured of Jesus’ purpose in being our High Priest.

How does this apply to our current day lives? How should we apply this knowledge to our lives?

First, we need to be in prayer on our knees. Your prayer is between you and God. Only the two of you know what is going on between you both. Whatever it is, it needs to be God-focused and how your life should be ALL God. Be all in for God. He gave us numerous promises in His word. Accept them and apply them daily.

Second, evaluate what your life is like and how it’s honoring God. Scripture is a great place to start. If we’re busy in His word, we don’t have time for negativity and drama. We’re to be about God’s business. It’s all about Him.

Next, be in community with God and like-minded fellow Christians. It helps sharpen each other. It gives us the opportunity to corporately praise and worship Him together. He deserves it! What do you say?

Finally, we need to be sharing the gospel as Christ’s ambassadors and disciples. His word tells us to go out into the highways, byways, and hedges to spread the gospel to all who will hear it. It’s in His word, look it up for yourselves. Don’t take my word for it.

Who’s in? I’m all in!

Dear Father God, thank You. Thank You for who You are and what You’ve done and continue to do for each of us, Your children. Thank You for Jesus, our Savior, and High Priest. Use each of us for Your glory and honor. I pray that this blog blesses people and is an encouragement to them so they fully surrender their all to You. I also would like to seek clarity and understanding with regard to what strong’s greek is really saying in parallel to scripture. It gets so confusing to work out. Please, God, use me. I’m here. Thank You, in advance, for hearing and answering this prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Jesus, Our High Priest – D1

Hebrews 6_1-3 image
Day 1

1st off, the first 14 verses of Hebrews 6 is an ENCOURAGEMENT TO STEADFASTNESS FROM GOD’S FAITHFULNESS TO HIS WORD AND OATH.

We have a warning against falling away from our faith.

Hebrews 6

1 So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.
2 You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
3 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.
Basically, it’s time to grow up and get on with our maturity in Christ in our faith. It’s time to further our understanding of scripture and learn to grow in our faith. So, here we are.
To focus on a part of this scripture; basic teaching/principles:
Greek: ἀρχή
Transliteration: archē
Pronunciation: ar-khay’
Definition: From Strongs G756; (properly abstract) a commencement or (concrete) chief (in various applications of order time place or rank): – beginning corner (at the) first (estate) magistrate power principality principal rule.
KJV Usage: beginning (40x); [the strongs uses the KJV bible. I do not. I am unable to find it any other way.
The word principles is used 58 times in 56 verses.
Like a chief cornerstone… (Jesus is our chief cornerstone.)
Here are a few tips to get started:
  • 1st, open-up, and read God’s word. Spend time there. See what He has to say. For me, each time I read scripture, God shows me something I didn’t see or know before. Listen to the Holy Spirit speaking to your spirit. The scripture is never changing. However, there is always something to learn from it and to apply to our lives.
  • Next, spend quiet time praying and meditating over the Word and thanking God for your season of life. We’re all experiencing different seasons and stages of life.
  • Then, make sure to spend quality time in a Christian community with fellow brothers and sisters. Scripture tells us it’s beneficial for us and our growth. Without it, we become stagnant or stuck if you will.
  • Finally, make sure you attend a Christ-centered and Bible-believing, teaching church. That’s where you’ll find a community and your tribe. We all need a tribe. It helps us to be grounded in our faith. Without it, we rely too much on ourselves. We’re not capable of doing for ourselves what God does for us.
I postulate we’re to move forward and grow in maturity in our faith in Jesus Christ. The book of Hebrews in about Jesus being our High Priest. If we’re to be His disciples, we need to pull ourselves together and be about God’s business. When I say business, I am not speaking of making money and growing a business to sell stuff… I am referring to being in God’s will and helping people and sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s not about us. Everything in life should point to God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, [Our Triune God]. We need to have our vertical alignment aligned with God as the Lead. Everything else falls in line vertically. Like this:
  1. God
  2. Spouse
  3. Children
  4. Job/Career/Passion
  5. Everything else
Dear Father God, I lift up the readers and myself to You. I pray that each one of us will re-evaluate our walk with You. I pray that we pay attention to our maturity in Christ and our growth. Help us to see and live the way you need us to. Show us the Jesus is our High Priest and not man. You are awesome. I personally adore, honor, and glorify You. I thank You in advance for the honor of Your attention to our needs and answering my prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Giving!

View this post on Instagram

Giving… Jesus said, “It’s more blessed to give than to receive.” No matter what is going on in our lives or around us; it’s the will of God that we give a helping hand to those in need. Dear Yahweh, Adonai Abba, I lift up all the physically ill, spiritually in need, mentally stressed, and financial stressed. I claim victory over all the chaos. I trust You to meet each need when you see fit. I pray that You will be honored & glorified in all that is happening. You’ve already said, “It is finished!” I pray we let go of any strongholds in our lives and step aside and let You do your job. Thank You, in advance, for hearing and answering this prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
