    • What stands out in this scripture?
      • All of creation is God’s.
      • Who has the right to stand in HIS holy place is asked.
        • Answer: The one who has clean hands and a pure heart and does not long for what is false or lie when he is under oath.
~ This person will receive a blessing from the Lord and righteousness from God, his savior.
~ This is the person who seeks him, who searches for the face of the God of Jacob.
    • Does it give any commands or instructions?
      • Not so much commands or instructions as it’s a result of their previous actions that end in this outcome.
    • What is God saying?
      • In order to enter God’s holy place, we must have clean hands and a pure heart. In light of our present circumstances, being in a mortal human body with a human nature, it’s almost impossible to have clean hands, a pure heart, and don’t lie. However, we have the Holy Spirit to step in for us. He will groan a prayer for us even when there are no words that can be expressed.
“But if we hope for what we don’t see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. At the same, time the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we don’t know how to pray for what we need. But the Spirit intercedes along with our groans that cannot be expressed in words. The one who searches our hearts knows what the Spirit has in mind. The Spirit intercedes for God’s people the way God wants him to.
        Romans 8:25-27
  • How can I apply this scripture to life today?
    • I can strive to live a life worthy to enter God’s holy place because I have to Holy Spirit to guide me. Since Jesus is the Messiah, He became a ransom to be our Redeemer. That’s not to say I have free reign to behave in whatever way I want and think I can get away with it. I have freedom to live in God’s holy place because of it! I choose freedom, every day!
  • How can I live in light of this truth?
    • I can be salt and light for lost souls to find their way to God because of Jesus’ precious gift of salvation. I don’t have to live in lies, deception, and an impure heart. Jesus’ actions on the cross and resurrection made it possible to live for Him; not myself.

Prayer: Thank You, dear Father God, for the gift of salvation by Jesus and for sending the Holy Spirit to guide, comfort us, and to intercede on our behalf when necessary. I lift up the readers of this devotional and pray for their healing, physically, mentally, and spiritually. In Jesus’ name, amen.
