The Way to Heaven Is Hard

Psalm_119:105

Here’s a quote I came across in my reading that is fitting to share here.

“Direction is much more important than speed. Many are going nowhere fast.” Christine Caine

Let’s get our directions clear. Our direction is Eternity with Yahweh!

Being pointed in the wrong direction will keep you lost. Turn yourself and align with Yahweh, now! Slow down and allow Yahweh to have the navigational controls. He’ll never steer you in the wrong direction.

Like the scripture says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.”

The question then begs an answer, “Who’s lamp are you allowing to light your path?”

Throughout HIS Word it talks about Jesus being The Light. It should be the brightest light around us. Any other light isn’t enough. Any other light will lead you the wrong direction.

I have night blindness. Once the daylight becomes dim I’m unable to see to drive. Every once in a great while, I get caught in that dim light trying to get home. Just recently I was in this pickle. In a situation like this, light is vitally important. In my situation, I wasn’t far from home. I pulled out of the driveway of the motorcycle repair shop where I’d just dropped off my husband to pick up a motorcycle he had there. I mentioned before we left that it’s a dangerous venture for me. It was nearing dark then. So, I’m driving down the street and all I could see was all the lights of the cars. I was mildly freaked out. My eyes searched the edge of the road to guide me. In that instance, the light was dangerous, because, it was the wrong light for me. I had to figure what I was going to do to navigate home. So, what did I do?

I decided not to take that path because there was too much traffic and not enough of the proper light. Quickly, I decided to turn at a traffic light that would lead me to the next traffic light and just follow those traffic lights down the path I needed to get home. It worked out great. One, because the path I chose had less traffic. Two, because it allowed me to travel a path that led me to my destination. Finally, it was the path least traveled and it was safe.

That leads me to a scripture in Luke 7.

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate. The gate is wide and the road is wide that leads to hell, and many people enter through that gate. But the gate is small and the road is narrow that leads to true life. Only a few people find that road.

Are you on the right road? Is the light for your path correct? Are you leading down the path to true life? Comment and share your story. Bless others and be blessed.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, Yahweh, I lift up every reader that comes to this message. I pray that their path is lit with Your light and that they’re leading to true life with You, in Eternity. Thank You for all Your blessings and miracles, Yahweh. I pray for Your peace, grace, and mercy for everyone who finds this message. I thank You in advance for hearing and answering this prayer. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Character Flaws

Hebrews_12_6-11

Our homes, labs of human experience, provide the climate for spiritual education.

When some character flaw (sin) is revealed in us, we must take that flaw to our Lord for His help in correcting it.

Yahweh is our disciplinarian. He administers our punishment and corrections.

While discipline isn’t a joy ride and is painful at times, later, after learning from it, we will have peace, because we start living in the right way.

We all have character flaws that need discipline and correcting. All one needs to do is to “people watch”. You know what I mean. Go to the mall and sit and just watch. The other place could be a public park or garden with people. Central Park, in NY, for example. That’s a huge place. One would never run out of places to sit and people watch. All sort of things can be seen by people watching. I suppose that’s why there is the entertainment industry. We like to watch other’s flaws, and forget we have any. Until all of a sudden, a scene strikes a nerve in you. All because it reminds you of yourself. Don’t deny it. It’s true.

We need to surrender to Yahweh and allow Him to correct us. To make us more like Him.

How are you doing at surrendering to Him and being obedient? Comment and share your experience. The good and bad.

We all need to see that we’re not alone in this thing. Let’s bless each other! Yes, me too! That’s what I’m saying above. I people watch and then get struck! I’m guilty!

God Imitators

Ephesians_5_1-2_5

The character that we bear of God’s children obliges us to resemble Him, especially in His love and goodness, in His mercy and readiness to forgive.

As the sacrifice of Christ was satisfyingly effective with God, so His example should be prevailing with us, and we should carefully copy it.

There’s no room for evildoing! You don’t do evildoing, you say? Are you sure of that?

Let’s do a quick mental check:

  • Expressing a bad attitude
  • Hoping for someone else’s bad fortune
  • Plotting revenge

Need I go on?

Over the years I’ve noticed a trend in people expressing their minds about how they believe so and so deserves to get a taste of their own medicine. That kind of thinking is sinful. Yahweh isn’t particularly excited that we’re thinking, talking, nor acting on this attitude. It’s clear in His word!

Yes, on occasion I’ve fallen prey to that thinking. I’m not immune to sin. Shocker, I know! None of us is immune to sin. We’re born into it. Yahweh’s word tells us we are. Go see for yourselves. I encourage you to pour over and delve into His word. Learn what it says. Be imitators of HIM! Not imitators of the world.

Are you an imitator of Yahweh? If so, comment your experience. Let’s talk.

Supreme Love

Trust is the supreme expression of love. Therefore, it may mean more to Yahweh when we say, “I trust you,” than when we say, “I love you.”

Yahweh not only provides the rules and guidelines but comes with us personally each day to strengthen us so that we can live according to those rules. All we must do is trust Him, invite Him, and respond to His direction.

Wait patiently and He will fulfill His promises.

It’s in the waiting patiently that we are blessed and in turn, bless others.

I challenge each of you to patiently wait on the promises of Yahweh to be fulfilled.

Will you join me? Leave a comment and let me know you accept the challenge.

New Beginnings

Yahweh wants to do a new thing in your life.

Isaiah_43_18-21

This is a way to motivate you, the hearer & reader, to seek a new vision and a new interest in the things of God.

The main thing is embracing the new thing what God wants to do in your life is to change your focus — quit looking behind, start looking ahead.

Quote: “Don’t look back, you’re not going that way.” -unknown

Look at how far you’ve come in growing in your faith.

You cannot allow your past failures to possess you. Do not dwell on the negative of the past.

HE is giving you an opportunity to start over.

The question isn’t what has Yahweh done –the question must be:

  • What is Yahweh doing in your life right now?
  • What is it that you want Him to do in your life right now?

Comment on the new thing Yahweh is working in your life right now.

Me? I’m still working that out. I’m open to Him. Are you? If not, why? Let me know.

Don’t Love The World

Luke_14_26-33Jesus Christ has left principles and guidelines to govern every Christian home; and if we really love Him, we will keep His commandments.

We literally are required to love Yahweh more than anything else. Anything else is rejecting Yahweh.

When you reject Yahweh life will be miserable beyond expression. If you say you love Yahweh, but your life says different, then it’s a lie.

Yahweh must come first! Do you give of your firsts to Yahweh? If not, why? This world is temporary! It will go away at some point. What will you say to Yahweh when you meet Him at Judgment? How will you answer Him when He asks you what you’ve done with Jesus in your life?

I personally struggle with worldly vs heavenly. Satan, the enemy, is constantly yipping (condemning me) at my heals like an annoying dog barking for attention, telling me lies to coerce me to his way. It’s compelling. He makes it looks so pretty and attractive that it is hard to resist. The worst part? The complacency virus. It has infected all of human life.

The only way to beat complacency is to get busy with the work of Yahweh and building your relationship with Him.

How? You ask?

First, stop believing satan’s lies. Second, get in The Word of Yahweh and read, pray, and live for Yahweh. Last, but not least, get into fellowship with Christ’s body. Surround yourself with Godly people who can feed you and help nurture you in Yahweh.

Comment and let me know that you will, with Yahweh by your side, fight the enemy, because the victory is ours. The battle’s already won!

The Power Within

John_14_23-29

There’s a contemporary Christian singer who sings of this power. This power, The Holy Spirit takes up residence in us.

With The Holy Spirit within us, we can allow Him to be our Helper. He brings us peace. There’s no need to be troubled or afraid.

The Holy Spirit comforts us also when we do come into troubles. The Helper is our teacher and guide in life. We know these things because we have The Word, living and among us, that tells us.

With The Helper, The Holy Spirit, within us, we can block out the lies of satan. We have the victory today. Do you believe? Will you believe?

I’ve been in the headspace where I was fighting the enemy under my own steam. I’ve had nightmares fighting demons. Under my own steam, it’s a losing battle. With Yahweh in control, I stopped having nightmares and my anxiety is under control.

What about you? Comment your story and be blessed as well as bless others, letting them know they’re not alone!

Here’s the song I was referring to by Jeremy Camp:

No Condemning

John_3_17

It is through Jesus that the world would be saved, not condemned.

Stop condemning yourselves and others. Satan does enough of that on his own. Don’t help him do it.

Allow the Holy Spirit to be your teacher, guide, and to love you so you can return that love to the world.

In the past, I was hard on myself. There’s that quote we hear a lot;

“We’re our own worst enemy.” – Michael Strahan

I had to learn to not be my own enemy. I was also a control freak. I learned to be humble and allow Yahweh to have the pilot’s seat. It gets easier over time.

What’s your struggle with condemning yourself and others?

Comment and bless others as well as yourself. It’s healing to get it out.

Grief

Ecclesiastes_3_4

Sadly, grief is part of the human experience. Loss is part of life, and grief is a natural response to loss. But we have the hope of Christ, and we know that He is strong enough to carry our burdens (Matthew 11:30). We can give our hurt to Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). We can find solace in the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Paraclete (John 14:16). In grief, we cast our burdens on Him, rely on the community of the church, delve into the truth of the Word, and ultimately experience hope (Hebrews 6:19-20).

So, mourn and grieve. It’s healthy to a point.

At the moment, my husband and I grieve. We grieve the loss of our beloved furbaby. Today’s a new day. The Sun beamed very brilliant orange in its rising. No, I didn’t grab the camera to capture it. It was behind buildings and trees. It glowed around about. It was like our furbaby was radiating her love and smile in that sunrise!

Praise You, Yahweh for Your comfort and compassion, mercy and grace to get us through.

Are you grieving loss? If so, surrender it to Yahweh. He’ll comfort you and carry you through to the other side of the grief. I trust Him.

Comment and let us know so we can pray for you.

The Census

Luke_2_1-5

We’ve all experienced the census taking of our time. Today they send out forms to each address and request every piece of information possible. They request more today than they did in Joseph and Mary’s time.

They had to travel a great distance to reach Bethlehem, King David’s ancient home; who Joseph was a descendant of. From Nazareth to Bethlehem was roughly 69 miles. It might as well had been a million miles away, because, they had to travel by animal.

I don’t know about you, but, in my current physical condition, I can barely walk two blocks and then I have to stop and rest. 69 miles on foot took a long time to travel. And scripture says that Mary is pregnant. Traveling and pregnancy, and nearing the time of birth. I suspect this was a rough trip.

Because Joseph and Mary were law abiding citizen they complied with this decree for the census. So, off they went. Scripture doesn’t give details of the daily journey. So, we have to speculate and read between the lines.

Joseph was betrothed to Mary. Because they were both visited by an Angel telling them of the birth of Jesus they were committed and God fearing people.

Who of you would be willing to trek across the country while pregnant knowing that this baby could be born anytime? Mary was afraid. I’m sure Joseph was a bit worried. None-the-less they trusted Yahweh to meet their needs.

Are you trusting Yahweh for your needs this Christmas season? Me? Yes, I trust Yahweh implicitly. I know without a doubt that all my needs will be met.

Comment your story and bless others and be blessed. You’re not in this alone.

Also, I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!
